Seminar fil 11ta’ April fuq l-idejologija u l-prattika tax-Xellug organizzat mil-GWU YOUTHS
Il-GWU Youths, bl-appogg ta’ diversi ghaqdiet taz-zghazagh b’orjentazzjoni xellugija f’pajjizna, se tkun qed torganizza it-Tielet Seminar Nazzjonali bit-tema ‘What’s Left?’ – ibbazat fuq gurnata, fejn tigi diskussa l-ideologija tax-xellug u kif din hi mhaddma f’Malta, fl-UE u lil hinn. Din l-attivita’ se ssir is-Sibt 11 t’April 2009 fil-bini tal-GWU il-Belt Valletta. Is-seminar se jibda fit 8.30 u jispicca qrib it-3 pm.
Is-seminar ser jinkludi prezentazzjonijiet u diskorsi imtella’ mill-ghaqdiet taz-zghazagh, partiti politici, mil-GWU u wkoll individwi mill-kamp akkademiku. Kull prezentazzjoni hi intenzjonata li ddum ftit inqas min tletin minuta, segwita b’diskussjoni qasira fejn hu allokat hin ghall-mistoqsijiet u kummenti min dawk prezenti. Ic-chairperson ghall din l-attivita sejjer ikun is-sur Michael Parnis.
Din l-attivita’ se tkun miftuha ghall-pubbliku u minghajr hlas. Certifikat ta’ partecipazzjoni se jinghata lil dawk li jattendu ta’ l-anqas 70% tas seminar. Din l-attivita se tigi akkompanjata b’finger foods u bibiti. GWU YOUTHS to organise Seminar on the leftwing ideology and practice – 11th April
The GWU Youths with the support of various left oriented local youth organisations will be organising the Third National Seminar ‘What’s Left’ – this event is a day seminar where the leftwing ideology and application in Malta, the EU and beyond is discussed. The event will be held on Saturday 11th April 2009 from 8.30 till round 3 pm, at the Workers’ Memorial Building, Valletta.
The seminar will include presentations and speeches presented by different youth organizations, political parties, the GWU and members from the academic field. Each presentation is intended to take round thirty minutes, followed by a short discussion where questions and remarks are presented by the participants. The chairperson for this event will be Mr. Michael Parnis.
‘What’s Left’ is open to the general public and is free of charge. A participation certificate will be given to those who attend at least 70% of the seminar. The organsiations that are supporting this event are: Labour Youth Forum, Alternattiva Demokratika Youths, Zminijietna Left Youth, Moviment Graffitti, Greenhouse, PULSE, Koperattiva Kummerc Gust u Independent Collective Ir-Realta'. During this event, these organisations will also have the opportunity to present their published material at the same conference hall. This event is also supported by the Reggie Miller Foundation of GWU.
The speakers are: Mr. Tony Zarb, Mr. Geitu Mercieca, Dr. Toni Abela, Prof. Arnold Cassola, Prof. Peter Mayo, Hon. Mr. Evarist Bartolo, Mr. Michael Briguglio, Mr. Chris Cutajar, Mr. Andre’ Callus and Mr. Mark Camilleri. The subject of their presentations will vary between: The left in the 21st Century, Tradeunionism and Politics : What relation should they have?, Immigration and the Left, The media and the left in Malta, The Left and Civil Society, and other subjects. The seminar will also feature an exclusive recorded discourse by Dr. Joseph Muscat for this event.
We appeal to all the members of the GWU in particular the youths and all the members coming from the supporting organisations to attend and participate in this event.
