GWU Youths at ENEL Centrale

20/03/10 -  Amongst the visits held in Campania,  GWU Youths visited an ENEL power station in the region using latest technologies and equipment. Views were exchanged with ENEL top offcials.

GWU Youths in Campania, Italy

20/03/10 -  A group of 10 GWU Youths members were guests of CGIL trade union in Campania, for a learning experience on work-related issues as well as cultural exposure.

Muscat elected on KNZ Board

20/03/10 -  GWU International Officer Priscilla Muscat has been elected on the National Youth Council for the term 2010-11. Muscat will now serve as a PRO on the KNZ Board. The GWU Youths congratulates Priscilla for her success.

Industrial Visit at Farsons

01/12/09 - As part of the study-visit program, a delegation from CGIL and GWU Youths visited Farsons brewery in Mriehel meeting management official who showed the delegation round the the brew house and production lines.

CGIL Campania Youths in Malta

01/12/09 - A delegation of Italian trade union CGIL (Campania) youths was in Malta on a visit between the 1-1 February 2010. The objectives of such project is to visit workplaces, share experiences and enhance networking.

GWU Youths against censorship

20/01/10 -  GWU Youths declared that it joined the Anti-Censorship Front. It said that it believes in freedom of expression as it deems the Maltese capable enough to choose what should reach them and what should not. GWU Youths stated that its inclusion within the Front means that it is in favour of freedom of thought that does not foment racial, ethnic or religious hatred.

Donation - Richmond Foundation

05/01/10 -  A financial contribution has been donated to Richmond Foundation for the benefit of the community. GWU Youths Secretary Vincent Marmara and Finance Officer Ryan Fiorentino handed the cheque to CEO Ms Dolores Gauci.

Christmas event

29/12/09 -  As in previous years, the GWU Youths held its annual Christmas dinner preceded by the last executive meeting for 2009 which year has seen a new executive being elected, a revamp of our corporate image, and a tailor-made student membership scheme.

ETUC Youth Committee - Brussels

11/12/09 - The last ETUC Committee Meeting for the term 2007-09 was held in Brussels, electing a new team for the forthcoming two years. The meeting was attended by President Andre Borg  & International Officer Priscilla Muscat who took active part in the plenary.

Palestine: A State or a Nation?

28/11/09 -  Palestinian Ambassador on Special Missions Afif Safieh delivered an impeccable lecture on Palestine's state of affairs and hardships fought by its people. The meeting was organised by MOVE  Organisation. Andre Borg  attended on behalf of GWU Youths.

Executive 2009-2011 planning

The GWU Youths executive organised a fruitful planning meeting to devise a work plan for the upcoming term that has just kicked off. A series of events, seminars, policies and contacts shall take place, promoting our values to young workers and students.
